has been appointed as the new chair for the
Environment Agency’s Regional Fisheries, Ecology
and Recreation Advisory Committee for the
Midlands. He officially commences his position
on the 1 October 2005.
He will replace Tony Bostock whose term as
the RFERAC chair has come to an end. The Environment
Agency is very grateful to Tony who has contributed
eight and a half invaluable years on the committee
including five and a half years as a dedicated
chairman.
Born and bought up in Nottingham Geoff has
already been on the Midlands RFERAC for five
years. He has a broad range of qualifications
and wide expertise which makes him ideally
suited to his new RFERAC chair role.
He has recently taken early retirement after
27 years experience at Severn Trent Water,
culminating in his final role as the Regional
Conservation, Access and Recreation Manager.
In his free time he likes to relax by cycling,
walking, bird watching and listening to jazz
and classical music. In addition to this he
enjoys a spot of fishing with his 14 year
old son.
In response to his appointment Geoff has
stated "I am absolutely delighted to
have this opportunity to continue making my
contribution to improving the Midlands environment
for us all to enjoy and appreciate".

Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee
for the Midlands.
Geoff’s qualifications include: BSc Ecology,
IFM Diploma and he is a Chartered Environmentalist.
In addition to his qualifications he is a
Certified member of the Institute of Fisheries
Management and Countryside Management Association.
He is a member of the Peak National Park Local
Access Forum, the National Trust and RSPB.
Also he is a trustee of the Trent Rivers Trust.
