- The Environment Agency is urging local businesses
who care about their impact on the environment
to enter for this year’s Gloucestershire Environmental
Business Award.
This is the ninth year of the
Gloucestershire Business Awards, which are split
into different categories.
For the second year running,
we are sponsoring the Environmental Business Award,
which is given to the company that has shown outstanding
concern for the environment and which has taken
steps to introduce improvements which protect
and enhance the quality of life.
Improvements could cover action
to reduce emissions, waste or noise, to improve
raw material use or transport efficiency, to clean
up land or reduce the impact of the business activities
on neighbours.
The project or initiative must
have been completed or reached a meaningful stage
within the last twelve months.
The winner will be presented
with a commemorative trophy at an awards dinner
in October, in the presence of many of the region’s
leading industrialists, business people and the
media.

Lythgo, said: "We are delighted to be able
to announce that we are once again sponsoring
the Gloucestershire Environmental Business Award.
"We are keen to encourage
small and medium sized businesses to build into
all their business activities measures to protect
the environment, and to reward them for their
efforts.
"The standard of last year’s
entries was very high. Businesses in Gloucestershire
are doing some great work for the environment
and I am looking forward to seeing what they have
achieved this year."
