- A public exhibition showing plans to manage
flood risk up to 100 years into the future is
being held in Brigg on 10 August 1-630pm.
The exhibition is being organised
by the Environment Agency at the Angel Courtyard,
Exchange Place.
The exhibition will focus on
what the Catchment Flood Management Plan (CFMP)
says about reducing the risk of flooding in Brigg
in particular.
It will have general information
about CFMPs, and will show what policies the Environment
Agency is proposing for future flood risk management
in the part of the Grimsby and Ancholme CFMP area
that includes Brigg, Market Rasen and Barton-upon-Humber.
Roy Lobley, Project Executive,
said ‘Flood risk management is complex and involves
many different interested parties. Key groups
have been involved with the preparation of this
CFMP, and together we are developing a fuller
understanding of the current and possible future
flood risk in the Grimsby and Ancholme catchment.
‘To develop the most appropriate
plan we can, it is important that everyone with
an interest in the area gives us their views.’
‘We are hoping that as many
people as possible will take the opportunity to
visit the exhibition to find out more about the
plan and the consultation process currently being
undertaken, so that they know how to submit their
views to the Environment Agency for consideration.’
The Grimsby and Ancholme Draft
Catchment Flood Management Plan is out for public
consultation until 1 September 2006. Copies of
the summary document will be available at the
exhibition.
