14/02/2006 - Environment Agency Wales warmly welcomes the
appointment of Dr Graeme Harris as the new Chair of the
Fisheries Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee for
Wales (FERAC). A world renowned sea trout expert, chair
of the Welsh Salmon and Trout Angling Association’s Conservation
Committee and with experience in water industry and leisure
management, Dr Harris will bring a breadth of knowledge
and leadership to the role.
Outgoing Chair, Mr Pat O’Reilly MBE, has provided an invaluable
service to the Committee for over 11 years. Mr O’Reilly
has assisted in the delivery of major initiatives benefiting
Welsh fisheries and conservation interests including playing
a key role in the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Review
and development of major project initiatives such as Fishing
Wales.
Dr Harris will Chair his first Committee meeting on 26
April 2006 at the Abernant Lake Hotel, Llanwrtyd Wells.
